Mount Fuji is Japan’s highest mountain and the near perfectly shaped volcano has been worshipped throughout the centuries. Located on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures, it can be seen from Tokyo on clear days.

If you take the shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo in the direction of Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka, the best view of the mountain can be enjoyed from around Shin-Fuji station, on the right-hand side of the train.

For those with a little more time to spare, a trip to the base of the mountain will be one of the highlights of your experience.
