Sir Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy, Jason and Laura Kenny – the names trip off the tongue like a catalogue of greatness when it comes to track cycling and one of the most exhilarating sports at the Olympics.

Our cycling packages to Tokyo 2020 are expected to be some of the most popular and in demand.

Unlike its two-wheeled counterparts, track cycling is an entirely indoor discipline in which athletes race around a 250m wooden velodrome, which houses steep banks that rise to 42 degrees in parts.

Events are split between sprint and endurance with competitors racing either in teams or as an individual.  The discipline featured at the first ever Games in the modern era at Athens 1896.

Team GB have enjoyed unprecedented levels of track cycling success in recent Games, winning eleven gold medals at Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016, helping GB amass over 60 medals since Athens 1896.

With six golds and one silver to his name, Hoy is the most successful Olympic track cyclist of all time with Wiggins close behind on seven medals – four of them gold.
