Four golfers represented Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games – and Englishman Justin Rose landed a gold medal in the men’s stroke play.

The best golfers in the world compete over a 72-hole stroke play event and in Rio, Rose was joined by Danny Willett. In the women’s competition, Catriona Matthew and Charley Hull competed.

The event in Rio was golf’s first appearance for 116 years and will be a key sport at Tokyo 2020, combining skill, mental toughness and unflinching nerves of steel.

Team GB will be hoping their big guns find form at the right time to hunt down more medals.
