Freestyle skiing consists of aerials, moguls, ski cross, half pipe and slopestyle. All are dynamic and spectacular to watch making them firm favourites with the crowds.
Freestyle skiing has only been a medal sport on the Olympic programme since Albertville 1992, although it made its Olympic debut back in Calgary in 1988 as a demonstration sport.
At PyeongChang 2018, Izzy Atkin became the first Team GB athlete to win a medal on skis when she claimed bronze in the women’s slopetstyle event. The medal was the start of the country’s most successful ever winter Olympic day, with skeleton gold and bronze for Lizzy Yarnold and Laura Deas respectively coming in the evening.
